This annual event has become a must-do for families and nature lovers alike.  Ed Olsen opens up his family homestead to visitors for a hike through the past and into the present.  Learn about the early settlers to the area and their struggles to farm and log the lands granted to them.  Hear about the geology and biology of the area and visit a beaver pond biosphere.  A wood working project for kids and parents, prepared in Ed's own on-site sawmill.    

Family Day at Ed Olsen's Forest

  • 10:00 am - Arrival
  • 10:30  - Forest walk through Ed's Muskoka landscape, trees, rocks and beaver pond
  • 12:00 - Saw Mill, Timber buildings, Build-Your-Own wood project.
  • 1:00 - Departure
