The Course:
Start line is north side of Rosebud Island. The course is an equilateral triangle, 2 km. per leg sailed counter clockwise with all marks rounded to port. Leg 1 runs due north to Mark 1; Leg 2 reads southeast (240º) to Mark 2; Leg 3 heads southeast (120º) back to the start/finish line.
Rules:
- All crew must wear life jackets.
- All marks are to be rounded to port (counter clockwise).
- No assistance is allowed from any other power source than the wind
- Race start method: The start/finish boat will raise a flag and sound a horn (or whistle) at the 10 minute, 4 minute, 1 minute and starting time
- If a boat passes over the starting line before the starter flag is raised, it will have to circle back and cross the starting line again
- The race is finished after the last boat crosses the start/finish line or 90 minutes whichever is less
Trophies:
Trophies will be awarded to the fasted boat adjusted by their calculated handicap (Portsmouth Yardstick Handicap System). Race trophy will be handed out at the Fishing Derby and And of Season Awards Breakfast at 9:00 AM on August 15 at Skeleton Lake Marina.
