    The 2021 Skeleton Lake Fishing Derby

    Will you catch the Big One this year?  

    Open to all ages!  Register your 2022 catch at

    A category-based event concluding with a free Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, July 30 at Skeleton Lake Marina.  All participants receive a T-shirt compliments of Skeleton Lake Marina.

    Please include your name, age (for children), SLCO membership number and photograph of your catch with the type of fish, weight and length.  

    Participants agree and authorize the Skeleton Lake Cottagers Organization (SLCO) to use all details and photos for the purposes of the SLCO. 

    We support Catch and Release.

    2022 Photo Contest

    This Year's Themes:

    • Life at the Cottage (first and second place)
    • Wildlife (first and second place)
    • Plus ... one overall winner
    Submit photo entries to and include the theme, title of photo, your name, and SLCO membership number or SLCO family member's name.  Winners will be announced to the SLCO Annual General Meeting.  Prizes to be determined.

    Participants agree and authorize the Skeleton Cottagers Organization (SLCO) to use the photo entries and details for SLCO purposes.

    Come Join the fun on Canada Day weekend for a Vintage Boat Parade!  

    Bring your vintage boat or just come to

    join in the fun. 

    The flotilla will depart from the lake's north shore, just west of Long Point, and proceed in counter-clockwise direction.

    Calling All Budding Biologists!

    Learn about the cool bugs (benthic invertebrates) that live in the lake and support fisheries and wildlife.

    The types of bugs that are in your mud can tell you how healthy the lake is and how clean the water is too!  Come out for a morning/afternoon of play with the Blue Water's staff to learn about these fascinating creatures.  Nets and magnifying devices are provided.  Be prepared to get wet.

    A drink and a snack in re-usable containers and sun screen is recommended.

    A donation to the Land Between National Charity is appreciated.

    Event Registration/Rules:
    • The 2022 SLCO Regatta is open to all SLCO members, their families and guests
    • 2022 SLCO Memberships available at Membership Table - $50.00 (cheque/cash/credit card)
    • Participants authorize the Skeleton Lake Cottagers Organization (SLCO) to use all registration details and photos for the purposes of the SLCO.

    Canoes, kayaks, paddles, life jackets and life guards generously provided by the Camp Newport Adventure Camp

    No passenger limit per boat.  A jet ski will cruise the route with first aid supplies and a cell phone in case of emergency.  A tow boat will also be available to help as needed.

    Muskoka Conservancy

    Guided Hike

    Explore our Landscape, Flora and Fauna!

    A professionally guided hiking tour exploring the landscape, wildlife, flora and fauna by the Muskoka Conservancy Group.  Located at the MCG's 100 acre parcel on Tribble Road.  


    Travel 3.1 km on Tribble Road from Aspdin Road (Muskoka Road 3) to the parking area located next to the large culverts.  Look for the sign near the entrance to the MCG property. Additional parking is 0.1 km up the hill

    What to bring:

    • Hiking or rubber boots are recommended
    • Insect repellant
    • Drinks in reusable containers
    • A camera ... of course!
